Terms of Service

1. The service

ChessShort generates short vertical (9:16) chess-puzzle videos from engine-verified puzzles, adds a hook, countdown, solution reveal and AI voice-over, and can publish the result to YouTube and TikTok accounts that you connect — optionally on a recurring schedule.

The chess content is produced by a chess engine and puzzle database; AI is used only for narration, on-screen script text and metadata, never to decide chess moves.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) and legally able to enter into a contract.

One account per person or organization. Do not share accounts or create accounts by automated means.

3. Credits and billing

The service runs on credits. Generating one video consumes one credit. The Free plan includes a limited number of credits each month.

Paid monthly plans add credits automatically through our payment processor, PayMe. Prices are shown in US dollars and do not include any taxes that may apply in your jurisdiction.

Paid plans renew automatically every month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Credits already added to your account remain available until used or until the account is closed.

Payments are non-refundable except where refunds are required by law. Consumed credits are never refundable.

We may change prices or plan limits with prior notice; changes take effect from your next renewal.

4. Your content and connected accounts

You keep ownership of the videos you generate. You grant us the limited rights needed to create, store, process and — on your instruction — publish them to your connected platforms.

When you connect a YouTube or TikTok account you authorize ChessShort to upload videos on your behalf. You confirm that you own those accounts or are authorized to post to them, and that you will comply with each platform's terms and community guidelines.

You must not use ChessShort to create or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, deceptive, hateful, or that violates any platform's policies. You are solely responsible for the content you generate and publish.

5. Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or attempt to circumvent credit limits or access controls. Do not resell or white-label the service without our written permission. Do not create accounts in bulk or by automated means.

We may suspend access if your use threatens the security, integrity or availability of the service.

6. Third-party material

Chess puzzles are sourced from the Lichess puzzle database and used under its terms. Background music, sound effects and text-to-speech voices are provided by third parties and used under their respective licenses.

ChessShort is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, TikTok, or Lichess.

7. Service availability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, that a generated video will be accepted by any platform, or that scheduled publishing will always complete on time.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits, lost views or revenue, or actions taken against your platform accounts (including strikes or suspensions).

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and expenses arising out of the content you generate or publish, or your misuse of the service.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law, or after a prolonged period of inactivity.

On termination your right to use the service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — continue to apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will announce material changes in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute lies with the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
